Public consultation on proposed changes to the National Standard for Organic and Bio-Dynamic Produce

Public comment is now open for proposed changes to the National Standard for Organic and Bio-Dynamic Produce (the Standard). Public comment is open until 05/01/2018 for two submissions for changes to the Standard:

  1. Review of GMO conversion periods
  2. Rotenone

OFC is strongly against the watering down of Australia’s organic Standard to allow the GMO conversion period to be removed.

ISO 17065 Accreditation

ISO 17065 Accreditation

We are excited to announce that we have achieved accreditation to ISO 17065: Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services.

ISO/IEC 17065 has become the international benchmark for product certification and we are very proud of our achievement.

Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17065 is a requirement of the Department of Agriculture for all organic certifying bodies in Australia. The EU Commission also requires organic certifying bodies to have this accreditation to be able to issue Organic Produce Certificates for products to be exported to EU member countries.
